Happy New Year!

Over the past few years I have realized that I prefer my annual goals to be habit-focused (in 2025 this looked like aiming for 10K Peloton minutes, trying to read 100 books and painting the things I bought) and I like to set project-based goals on a quarterly basis.

Last October (the start of Q4) I shared 8 things I was going to be working on in the fall. I finished five. (My misses: I moved exactly zero rocks for our landscaping, that red sweater yarn got pulled out and I couldn’t summon the energy to care about the wedding album). Five out of eight feels great and pretty par the course for me.

So today, the start of 2026, I have a new list of projects I would love to get done the next three months. You’ll notice only one carry-over from the fall.

This is the same photo I shared three months ago. I’m hoping for some sunny days the next few months to move more rocks and plant more plants. I’ll get there!

Our estimated final frost date is March 14th which means I need to start all my seeds in January. I have a very detailed planting plan (excited to share more soon) and on January 5th, the art house will become the green house for my 100s of seedlings. My dirt is bought. My trays are washed. My grow lights and heat mats are ready. I cannot wait for another growing season.

Years ago I had a plan to frame some of our family photobooth strips and for some reason it never materialized. I have a new (simpler!) plan this year and am hoping to get a few of these memories out of a box and on to our walls.
