Welcome to the November edition of the Subscriber Q&A! I’m answering your questions about how I use Pinterest, how my book club got started and all my recent holiday crafts. Paid subscribers can submit questions for next month through the link at the bottom of this post.

Yes! I do use Pinterest and also get great creative sparks from it.
I post my own photos there because I am an enneagram 3 and love to share my work. In 2024, when I had literally nothing to promote, I still uploaded photos of my flowers (without links to anything!) because I just love a grid of images. And now that I want to grow this newsletter, I am trying to share hype images there. Is it working? I have no idea! But it’s an easy lift. Here you can see my created pins.
I also use it to save pins. Most recently photos of Michelle Williams’ cute pixie cut, cool paper collages, some ceramic ideas and a lot of poppy red. Pinterest remains a killer creative resource and looking at my boards makes me happy.
AND YET. Something I have tried to be conscious of the past 23 months is not replacing my Instagram scrolling habit with another infinite scrolling app. While overall I have done okay, I still go through periods where I fall down a new Internet rabbit hole. It always starts out great and ends with a stress headache and a low grade feeling of despair. (Reddit forums did me in a few times this year and in 2024 it was Candy Crush and Block Blast.)
