For as long as I have been embarking on creative projects I have been giving up on them. I have had a lot of hits! But that’s only because I take a lot of swings. I wanted to talk more today about some projects that are not yet misses, but are currently stuck in-progress. I am going to share the questions I ask myself about stalled projects to decide how I want to move forward.

I started this cross-stitch piece back in February 2022. We were still living in San Diego and our current house was just my obsession, not my home. I designed the layout in MacStitch and wanted it to be a modern sampler. I worked on it furiously for a month (here’s how it looked in late March 2022) and then we moved and into a box it went. As you can see above, over the past 3.5 years I have only added an olive branch and started an acorn.

So why did this project stall? I cannot figure out how to fill the remaining five boxes! I don’t know the next step and I feel stuck.
